“I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe.

All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain”

Roy Batty, ‘Blade Runner’ 1982

In a career spanning four decades, I have worked in most genres – Features, Commercials, Documentaries, and Natural History, and on multiple platforms – IMAX, 3D, Cinema, TV and VR.

I learned the basics of photography and camera operating from my Father who was an Artist, Photographer and Cameraman. After leaving college I joined my Father’s film company, Trent Films in Nottingham. I moved down to London and went freelance in 1982, mostly working for BBC, Thames TV, LWT, and Central TV.

Because of my love for the AATON film cameras at the time, I became associated with ICE Film Equipment – AATON agents for the UK. I also co-founded a post-production company called OCULUS, whose credits include: ‘Pride & Prejudice’, ’28 Days Later’ and ‘Atonement’.

In 2008 I became interested in the emerging 3D world and was mentored by Stereographer Chris Parks of Vision3 (Gravity/Fantastic Beasts). My 3D credits include: ‘Pirates of the Caribbean 4’, ‘Horrid Henry’, ‘Jack the Giant Slayer’ and a number of 3D Series for SKY.

I’ve had the pleasure of working on some exciting wildlife series with Sir David Attenborough for SKY and BBC, some of which have been made into Cinema and IMAX 3D experiences.

I received a ‘Best Cinematography’ award for ‘Flight of the Butterflies’ (3D IMAX) from the GSCA (Giant Screen Cinema Association). I have a BAFTA Nomination for David Attenborough’s ‘First Life’ and several Emmy Nominations.

I have spent most of my working life in the London area, but lived and worked in Washington DC for two years. I now live near Bristol in the UK.
